He Left the Fritos

Thus ends my best set of days. I have just spend about a total of 21 hours with MH this weekend. We started with lunch and a movie yesterday. We had originally planned to go see The Night Listener but we got out of the TGIFs too late. So we ended up going to see Barnyard. It was good. Then onto Professor Plum's Mystery Playhouse where we obviously made a great team and were the only one to solve the mystery. Then back to my apartment to watch Saturday Night Live and other late night shows.

He left pretty late(or very early depending on how you look at it) and so it was late afternoon Sunday when we got together again. LOL Which actually struck me as funny because I had actually spent all night dreaming about him. LOL I didn't count it in the 21. We had already decided to have a low key afternoon of movies. He brought over a bagful and we watched Mystery Men, Little Nicky and Snatch. They were all very good. I hadn't seen any of them. I felt worse for the pawn people in Snatch. A trunk full of bodies but they never killed anyone...

I really enjoyed all the time I spent with MH this weekend. We never ran out of things to talk about. Plus he is amazingly funny and sweet. He has picked up on the fact that I love to be hugged and would hug me at random times during the night. He is looking into getting a long weekend so that we can spend it together in Universal : )

Oh and a funny thing happened Friday while unpacking delivery. We get delivery on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at the library. It is usually a mixture of our books coming back to us or reserves that people have placed. But this time there was one envelope marked for me. I opened it only to find a smaller envelope in it and then opened that for a smaller envelope. Inside the smallest envelope was a ring. But there was no note or explanation. I figured it out quite quickly though. My friend T had complimented me on my pendant last weekend at the party. It is a tiger's eye. She had also mentioned that she had a ring of that same stone. She apparently had decided to send it via delivery : )

Before my explanation, one of my staff exclaimed that it must be an engagement ring. LMAO Okay, she is majorly jumping the gun. Poor guy... only five dates and already she's got me married off. When I explained the story to MH, he joked that so I could be bought off with cheap jewelry. Don't worry. He was teasing me and I did bop him once or possibly twice. He used to it though. I seem to do it at least once everytime we get together. I think it ties back into the whole smacking the kid you like in elementary : )

LOL Which reminds me. LOL I punched a guy I liked in sixth grade in the mouth. He had come up to me with his friends surrounding him and asked me to kiss him. Well, I think my brain must of misfired and I ended up punching him in the kisser. LMAO It didn't hurt him. I think it mainly just surprised him. Poor guy. I couldn't believe that I did that. And I wonder why I didn't have a real date til 16 : )

Good night and when they say love hurts, they aren't just whistling Dixie : P

On the Road to Recovery (Hopefully)

Feeling almost all the way better today : ) So on with the planning of the vacay... It does suck having to cancel, Christelli, but the eternally optimistic me can find a silver lining in this cloud. I have been talking it over with MH and we are talking about doing a mini vacation together and then I was thinking of taking the rest of my days and heading out on my own. After dinner with my friend N. last night (which I stubbornly went to, sick or no sick), we looked at all of her pics from Orlando trips and it got me thinking. It has been ages since I went down there. I do not want to do Disney because I have been there so many times before but Epcot or Universal or MGM might be fun to do again. I have only been to those guys only once.

So it is definitely a maybe there. Throw in the fact that it would be with MH and it is looking more and more of a yes. Wow... talk about big step (at least in my eyes)... there is so much to discuss and get settled. Part of me feels like I'm at the highest peak of the roller coaster just before the plunge. Scared out of my mind yet thrilled and excited. I mean you have to cover some serious issues such as same room, money, what you plan to do while there, etc. But it's not just vacay that got me feeling that way. I have this insane desire to see him right now. At 2:30 PM on a Friday...

Dinner with N. was great last night (being sick aside). She has a very cool family and I really enjoy hanging out with her. She is a lot of fun and we are thinking of taking stained glass classes together. I tried to get her to commit to a belly dancing class but no such luck... but she did agree to a dance class for the next term: )

Okay work calls...

Good day and ta-ta for now!

Bleech!

Why does my body decide to rebel on one of the few full days I will be at work? Only fifteen more minutes to freedom... Oh and Switzerland is off... again : P I am going to have to come up with a vacay spot. H. had responsibilites so D. is heading off to the conference by himself. I could still go but I really wanted someone to pal around with during the day and he will be conferencing... I still have the time off and I want a vacation. Any suggestions, dears? But the only way to get over that blah is to plan the next European vacation... can we say September 2007? So be there or be sitting at home in underwear : )

Good day and quell the rebellion : P

The Long Drive Here

I have one of my single longest drive to and from work each day. It is probably about 40 minutes at least one way. So what do I do on my long drive? I tend to do a lot of thinking, talking, praying and singing. For a time, I was also learning French in my car. I do need to get back to that I think.

This morning's drive was especially thought-filled for some reason. In that short span of 40 minutes, I had wondered about culture, art, civilization, becoming a man or woman, law, and what to bake for my next neighborhood meeting. I ponder quite a bit (insert bit of "The Wanderer" but change to ponderer for comic relief : ) At first I started out with becoming a man or woman and culture. I pondered exactly how culture and civilization came about. I pondered what it takes to change a culture. I pondered how art is defined. I pondered on exactly how laws come to be and how intertwined they are with the culture that you live in. And then at last I decided that my pondering was just a wee bit too much for the morning and finished it off with the baking ponder.

No, I hadn't just come off a PBS bender. It was all things that just came to me this morning. Occassionally I can trace a thought pattern backwards and figure out how it all started. But not today's...

My weekend was great! I had to work all Saturday and was monumentally busy. It did make the day go by quite fast. Sunday was wonderful. I love hanging out with my family. They are just so wonderfully wonderful and weird. I love how much we laugh together. Families should do that more.

I went into work slightly crabby on Monday. The only thing I could figure as to why and once I said it, it was unfortunately true. I think I missed seeing MH over the weekend. He didn't attend the family thing on Sunday because I didn't relay to him that he was invited in time plus we already had P's guy coming. We're trying to stagger the number of guys brought home to meet the fam. But then I get to see him Saturday so I am hurrying the week along.

Tuesday was slammed with meetings. I was barely actually at my branch for maybe 2 hours out of a workday. But I am hopeful about the focus group meeting we had the other day. I see such potential for libraries. It would be cool to apply the credo of "What could we achieve if we could not fail" to the library world. But I am an odd optimist. Odd because I am and because I see such potential and I believe utopia is possible.

Good day and la vie est bonne!

Busy as a Bee

I'm finally getting to enjoy some quietness today. Today was all about busy. We have lost one employee to a transfer and the other was out for a family thing. Thus it was just me and one other person. It was a quick day though which is always a good thing. I spent pretty much the whole day on desk. It 's not so bad though. It just means dealing with people all day too.

I have been going over my poems and journals from the last couple of years. They have proven to be pretty interesting. I've kept some form of journal since about the eighth grade and my thoughts are as always serious and silly and very amusing. One of the things I found was my journal entry the day after the 9/11 attacks. A lot of it was just writing it down for rememberance. Though not the kind of day that one just forgets. I will never fully comprehend the kind of mindset or hate that one needs to commit acts of violence. Violence only begats more violence. And if so, where does one draw the line? How do you even begin to stop?

One of the other things I found in these writings were a number of story ideas. I had completely forgotten about them. Only one of them has been fully developed into a children's book though. Most of them were starts of chapters and character sketches. One of my favorites was the short story that was to be about a niceness contest done at a high school. It was going to be written in journal format and from the point of view of one of the contestants and all the mean things she did to win.

I took my kitten to the vet yesterday. Henri appears to be doing a lot better. No more getting sick today. Evil cat just had to appear all healthy when we were in the vet. It is all part of his maniacal plan to make me appear insane. But I am glad he is doing better. He was not a happy cat on the way there or back. He yowled and he is normally not a vocal cat. But he is home and on his way to being healthy. I will just have to put up with the battle scars from trying to give him his meds. I did better today as I used the towel to wrap him in.

Date number four was good as all of them have been. We went to see Pirates of the Carribean 2 and then to a late dinner at Steak and Shake. S & S was out of ketchup and shakes which made for humourous discussions of why it was out. The best one we came up with was the disgruntled employee. You can not have steak without ketchup and shakes.... well, without shakes : ) Way to bring down the business, you rebel you : P It was late going home so I tended as usual to get a little silly.

All right, lovelies. It is getting late and I should hit the hay as I have partying to do tomorrow : )

Good night and when in doubt, pet a cat.

PS. M, it is incredibly good to hear from you in a manner of speaking. Expect a holler this week...I have so much to tell you and so very much to hear from you. Love you beyond much!

The Shade of Cotton Candy

There's not much business today. I think everyone is out eeking the last bit of summer out of their summer. But our stats for the month were fabulous... over 3,000 people came in our doors just for this month. Major coolness. With the slow day comes the ability (normally) to get a ton of stuff done. I have been mainly working on stats and schedules. But for some reason I keep getting distracted... which will be explained shortly. Overall it has been a busy week. I had to do interviews on Monday. We're promoting one of our parttime people to full time. I think she is going to do just brillantly with the change.

So we are planning this very typical throw together get together at my parents' house this Sunday. It should be very cool as P and hopefully T will be there. P is thinking of bringing her guy and I need to talk to MH about it. I want it to be out there as an offer and not a requirement. Especially as this is not something he can recipocrate with as his family is over a 1,000 miles away. I usually have gotten along with my guy's parents in the past though.

My distraction stems from the large vase of a dozen long stemmed blush pink roses which are sitting in my office. I keep staring at them as if I expect that one second I'll look away and they'll be gone. He was late on Saturday so I requested flowers. But LOL I was thinking 3/10.00 Publix flowers next time he saw me... not these beautiful filling my office with rose scent flowers. I'm still a bit speechless about them. They are very much like him... unexpected. My whole plan was to not like him too much too fast and he is making increasingly difficult.

Good day and I blushed more than the roses.

It's either the guy or the pizza...

It is wicked early Wednesday morning (a little after one am) and I can't get to sleep. The minute I get quiet and settled at any point during these last couple of days, I begin to think about what I have thought about for the last couple of days.

I can not decide if this sleeplessness is a result of these thoughts or the fact that I accidentally ordered two pizzas. They were good but I have the strong suspicion that if I actually were to finish the pizzas I would never again be able to look a pizza pie in the crust ever again.

Okay so the thoughts are four in nature. Two are for future reference for MH and the other two are current reference. I was planning on sitting him down on Wednesday and sharing with him all four. But if I write about it now, he'll just have advance notice. Oh well... The first was to tell him how much our third date talk meant to me. My dating self confidence took a swan dive with my last serious relationship. For the last several weeks of it, I could tell something was wrong but had no idea if what I did hindered or helped the situation. That has really made me question myself in the area of dating. But it really relieved me when we talked. That was the main jist of the first current reference. Throw some stuff in about how wonderfully wonderful he is and you got me talking first point.

The second point was to find out whether or not he would be willing to see me twice in one week. We had made plans to get together for a low key something on either Wednesday or Thursday. I am supposed to call him and let him know what day. I am currently leaning towards Wednesday since that will mean getting to see him tomorrow but if I go with Thursday, the work pressure is off of me at least since I am off Friday. So me and my brillance came up with " What about Wednesday and Thursday?". But me and my dating self confidence were a bit concerned on how he would take that suggestion.

LOL I was talking to someone today about baggage. Some of us have carry ons and others have full six piece matching sets : ) Ugh... it is really carry on....

So from my wondering head to yours...or from my wondering head to God's... Worry about nothing. Pray about everything.

I had a wonderful lunch with two of the other branch managers. They are just hysterically funny. I am glad that they were in my training. Yes, by the way, I now am going to add online reference to my vast knowledge bank of skills. Oh and I am about to be publish in Library Journal. Nothing fancy... just a case study that I responded to. But it is a national magazine for librarians : )

First LJ then the world (manicial laughter inserted here)...LOL

Goodnight and just you wait.... I'll get you my pretty, you and your little blog too...(wicked cackle inserted)

Supporting the Arts

Thus far yesterday was spent in support of the arts. After a lovely morning of sleeping in, I decided to spend some quality time with myself. I'm great and myself wanted to take me out to lunch and then to the museum. So off to lunch and to the museum of Modern Art. There were just incredible pieces there. I am not a huge fan of Modern Art but I love how it is not clear cut as to what the picture represents. I especially the surrealists. Plus the museum had a play area up on the top floor and I am all about playing.

Today was all about fun today. MH and I went to dinner and then to comedy club. I had never heard about the comedy club we went to but it turned out to be quite nice. At one point I was laughing so hard that my cheeks hurt. Afterwards we headed back to my apartment and talked a bit. I really like hanging out with him. He is just really incredible and wonderful... I have yet to have a bad time with him. I feel special with him. Even more so after our talk.

After he left, P and I finally got a chance to talk... she has also been doing well in the dating department. The rest of my evening/early morning was not doing so well though. Henri ran all over the apartment getting sick. My poor kitty. I finally shut him and me up in the living room so at least I only had one room to clean up. I also turned on the AC hoping maybe he was just overheated. He has since settled down somewhat and no more getting sick. I may have to leave everyone in here.

Good day and : )

Chica Chica Boom Boom

The first line from this has been rolling around in this head of mine. It is a wonder all the things that are in there. Last night was just great. I got to hang out with T. who is this great person who works at the library. We talked and laughed and ate pizza. Really really good pizza and really really good laughs. I am hoping to remember to call Mr. Magnificent and N. tonight at some point. I am going to try some nicknames instead of all the initials. Mr. Magnificent was the librarian at MH and one of the funniest guys I know and N. is the nurse in my eye doctor's place. T. is staying T until I can come up with something....

So I left a message with Mr. H. It's not that I don't really like the lawyer but I want to keep my options open. What if (insert horrific gasp here) he ends up not liking me? I either have to end up going out with Mr. H. or the seemingly weird guy at work. The seemingly guy is just that... he seems to be just a smig too odd for me. As I told T. last night, you see a porcipine and you know not to pick it up... some guys are like that.

I also almost ran away today. You know me... it is a spur of the moment thing. Well, while IMing CB today, he mentioned wanting to quit his job and go home and play on his XBox. I've never played on an XBox so I asked if I could come over and play too. The next thing I know I am investigating tickets to Colorado. Yes, crazy me... but it would only be for a long weekend. Plus I have never been there. Had I not had plans for this weekend, it would be have been mightly tempting. Oh but while I was checking out tickets, I also took a look at Boston. Why Boston? My best friend lives there or just around there. I could go see her and her husband. How very coolness would that be!

I'm just ready for a little getting out of here for a little bit. But my weekends have been pretty full. I'm planning on going to Library Night next Sunday and I have to work Saturday. But the week after that.... who knows : ) I just like seeing and doing new things. Life is about living : P

Good night and no matter where I end up, there the heck I am : P

Our love is her bitter need

I love those magnetic poetry pieces. I have them at work on my files and at home on my fridge. The title is one I made the other day. The regular poetry I haven't written in a while. I do have a stack of it set aside to bring into work. One of the girls was working on a story and asked to see what I had done.

I spent last night over at J and P's house. I like going there as it is like a hotel with dogs. It gives me a break from the norm and I have fun with them. Tonight I have plans with T. which is super cool as I haven't really hung out with her since the last committee meeting. I did add calling M. (not lawyer M.) and N. to get back in touch with them. As well as email M. (not lawyer M. again... I should call him M.H. to make it a bit more clear...) to find out how the big city in the south is going for him. I like doing to do lists. I am just a list kind of girl apparently. I find that if I don't write it down, there is a pretty good chance I won't do it.

I am also tossing around the idea of call Mr. H. It would be a semi weird call since I am not sure if the number was given to me really to call him or to call him and ask about the group he belongs to. But since I am interested in the group (him I am not so sure of since we only talked a little that day) , I will call him later tonight. It's odd. I feel like I am having to refind my balance. I've been so focused on career. And now there's friends and family and dating to figure in. It's a good way to grow.

It feels like a life brimming with possibilites. I love that feeling.

Good day and all life is yours to miss.

My special talents

During the date (okay biggest grin of my life on my face: ), we got to talking about special talents. At first, I only gave myself the worst poker face person. But after much thinking on it later, I discovered I had a slew of special talents. Which happens to tie into another conversation I had today with EFB about worth. Why is it easier to believe the bad? I was attempting to tell my friend just how good he truly is but I didn't seem to be getting anywhere with that. On the same vein, I blush like crazy whenever M. gives me a compliment. There were several yesterday. Which I haven't been thinking of all day... nope, not in the least (see, told I can't lie...see special talents to know what I am talking about)

So special talents... I have two magic tricks I am good at. One I learned from Dad, the other from a math professor at JU. I can rip a paper straw into little bits and put it back together again. I can also rub a coin into my skin. I can pirouette fairly well. I rarely loose my temper and if I do I usually stamp off instead of hurting the other person. Think of how many wars would be better if we stamped off to cool down instead of hurting other people. I am a good thinker. Rodin's guy had nothing on me. I can type fast. I can curl my tongue. I am a good tease, not the hurtful kind but the playful kind. I am quiet. It ties in quite well with the whole thinking thing. I am a good listener. I am a great dancer especially in the wee hours of the morning. I am honest. I can't lie to save my life. I can face paint. I even impressed the clowns at the branch birthday party. I breathe really well. All those years of practicing haven't been in vain. All these special talents... true, others can do them. But no one does it just like me.

I bet you all have special talents too. You never know when a special talent might come in handy.

Good night and practice, practice, practice... (and EFB, all the money in the world couldn't add up to what you are worth. Believe me)

With a Face to Match my Shirt

This outfit was definitely more me than the last time. Very cute and very comfortable was definitely a neccessity for the day. Second date done. We headed out to one of the museum in town. I had a lovely time just showing M around the gardens and museum. We just talked and laughed the entire time. Afterwards, it started to really come down just after we got to the car. Somehow we seem to always be heading to the car on a Sunday just in time before the rains come. We were going to go catch a movie. But I had spent most of the night and part of the morning cleaning my apartment and suggested we go to my apartment to watch movies. My cats all seemed to like him which is a good thing. We watched two movies and then since we were both hungry headed out to grab a quick bite.

He seemed a bit nervous though this time. As we were watching and talking during the movie, just based on body language, it seemed like he wanted to kiss me. So I did something a bit unusual for me. I kissed him. It was good. I think it surprised him just a bit. Heck, it surprised me a bit too. I'm not normally that forward. I had even thought about asking him if he wanted to kiss me. It's interesting to me that that is the one thing I wonder if I will forget how to do. We're making plans to get together next weekend.

As far as the rest of my week, work was good. My car has decided to be difficult. But I am hopefully that I may be able to worked on tomorrow. There is a slight problem with the front left tire and unfornuately the anti theft lugnut key that I bought to replace the one I had before is just a shade to big for the lugnut. Argh! My hope is they will have an extra one at the dealership tomorrow.

Last night I fell asleep early in front of the television. I woke up around 1:30ish and decided I still need to do some major cleaning. I hadn't decided whether or not to invite M in or not. We had already made plans to meet at the restaurant but I figured maybe at the end of the date. Plus PBS was running a program on string theory and the fall of the Peruvian president in 2000. Who could pass that up?

I had originally planned to go to dinner with a friend of mine on Saturday but we realized Friday night that we had gotten the dates mixed up. But it was good that I emailed her as I finally got her number. I had mainly been either contacting her through work or email. She is very very cool and fun to hang out with. I have a lot of friends like that. I guess like attracts like : )

Good night and blushing should be banned. I am way too good at it.

Worry about nothing and pray about everything...

Those billboard can sometimes have very good advice. Well, it is now Tuesday and what a week last week was. This week is shaping up to be just as jam packed.

I have had my date with the lawyer M. and it was really good. We went out to lunch on Sunday and talked throughout the meal. I was just like 10 minutes late so major oops but I did look really good. J had taken me shopping the day before. After lunch we took his car and drove to the mall for a movie. We were early but walked the mall laughing and talking. He is amazingly sweet and cute. He had already seen the movie but was willing to see it again with me.... major brownie points. After the movie, we got ice cream and talked more. It was so good. I haven't gotten that many compliments in a long time. He thought I was beautiful, intelligent, funny and creative. I am positive I blushed more than once. I think many of the same things about him. I loved that he knew how to tease just a little and he just kept staring admiringly.

And yes, we already have a second date set up. He asked me out again as we were driving back to the restaurant for my car and then called me yesterday to set up details.

I am a bit nervous as I haven't dated in so long. Should we move into the area of liking to loving, I will be a complete wreck. I'm very very protective of my heart. I haven't given it to anyone in about 10 years.

Worry about nothing and pray about everything looks so easy but it isn't. It is hard to turn over the worries even though I know in my head that worrying doesn't nothing. But praying does everything. If God can bring his son back to life, what is one little heart being reanimated?

Good day and pray often.

Happiness lies in the joy of achievement and the thrill of creative effort.

I so appreciate all of your comments for my last blog entry. I was just so shocked, hurt, betrayed and humiliated. It colored my whole sunny day into a deep shade of grey. I am so grateful and glad I turned to my dad to help me with this. He really did an amazing job of standing up for me.

I am this amazing organized and smart person but there are just some situations that knock me off my proverbial feet and I just don't handle them well. The only seeming thick skin I have is on my feet.

Though not right now. As a treat to myself, I went and got my hair, feet and hands done. It was just lovely and just what I needed. It was also just in time as my date is Sunday. With all that was going on to bring me down, I haven't had a chance to call my lawyer back but plan to Friday night. I really enjoyed our first talk and we seem to have a number of interests in common. Plus, he seems to be a truly genuine guy. A very rare breed... or at least as far as I know.

I will be busy Saturday with the branch birthday party. It feels like it will end up being a really good time. We are going to have storytellers, a Tae Kwon Dao exhibition and medieval fighting. We are also going to have a fire engine and cake. All the things you need to have a truly spectacular time.

Okay totally bushed so good night and cake makes the world go round : ) P.S. The title was my fortune for tonight from Hot Wok.

Good Thoughts

After a lovely conversation with the lawyer, something happened today to throw me off my emotional center. Nothing to do with him but something else that someone else asked me. It made me feel like such crap especially at a time when I was getting excited about dating and relationship and marriage.

So all good thoughts, prayers and hugs would be appreciated.

Good night and Needed: Good Thoughts. Apply within

Deliver Us!

Yesterday was good and surreal all at the same time. I've spent some time talking to old boyfriends (we are friends now : ) and it got me thinking about dating. I am a horrible dater. I usually just skip the dating and move right into the relationship. I usually fall in love hard. But overall I think that I am a good girlfriend. I have my flaws but I am a masterpiece in progress so the flaws just highlight the beauty.

So in the interest of dating, I signed up for a trial session with an online personals place. The hometown lawyer is the one that I liked the best. Though I think I actually answered about five but his was the only one that I added my email address too. Most of the things I am interested in are pretty solitary so meeting guys that way is mostly nil. I'll keep you posted on how it all goes. I mainly want someone who is just a little off center but not in a scary way. Someone who can keep up with me conversation-wise and talk serious and completely silly all at the same time. Someone who makes me laugh and think.

I am glad to still be talking to the old guys though. They are both really good guys. A lot of why I loved them is still there and I do still love them but just as friends. I like being friends with people who understand me... at least somewhat : )

So today was a good day off. My list of should haves has grown somewhat but I have plans to take care of some of it after blogging. I did get to sleep in. My plans to go get the labwork done and the car worked on kind of fell by the wayside. So lunch and a movie were taken care of instead. Now it is on to cleaning the apartment. It is definitely one of the should haves. I try to clean a room each day but that is still a work in progress plan.

The offer of a date is now on the table. YAY! Trying to keep my grin to a minimum. The lawyer is busy this weekend and so am I so I'm looking at next week or the week after. He's written me these long letters that I have really enjoyed. I haven't answered today yet but I like to wait to the end of the day to take care of email. I'm so used to work and then fun stuff that my days off throw me off a bit. Oh, there is also an international trip in the works. Double YAY.. not definite yet but oh those possibilities. P. is looking into cheapish tickets so possibilities become much more definite. All around good day thus far. Oh, also got free salad with lunch cause they messed up my order. Triple YAY. Any more reasons for YAYS and I will just explode into this messy happy goo. : )

Good day and this message will self destruct in 5,4,3,7... so happy I can't count :P

As a Lobster

I had a lovely American Redneck Day. I went to the beach with D, H, M and S. We had a blast just playing in the sand, swimming and talking. So I didn't get a redneck but redlegs, redchest and redfeet.

I have never understood the mystery of how I can want my legs to tan and then burn my feet. It is one of life's puzzles.

And just for the record, I am boycotting Independence Day. If only the colonists had not rebelled, then I would have a much easier time getting a job in England. I remember flat shopping in England the day after July 4th a couple of years ago. The realtor asked how my Fourth had gone and I had just naturally inquired about his. He kind of laughed and said that they really don't celebrate it the way we do. LOL

Good night and vive la revolution!!!

Being Sociable

After working all day with people, I often want to lock myself in my apartment for a long while. I like people just fine but I get overloaded sometimes.

Apparently not recently though. This weekend I have gone to a friend's farewell party on Friday and have just come back from a cookout tonight. Both events were quite lovely. Outside of the truly great company at both events, they also had small experiences that made them truly memorable.

On my way to and from the farewell party, I got completely lost. At one point, I passed two cars that were pulled over. It appeared that one had pulled over to help the other. I felt a twinge of guilt the first time I passed. The guilt had increased the second time I passed. I felt that had I passed it a third time, I would have just had to have stopped : ) I am glad I got lost though. It did help me not be so lost on the way home.

The memorable part of the second sociable gathering was again on the way home. I had just turned onto the street that would take me almost the whole way home when I realized that I had picked up a passenger. A lizard was peeking at me on the dash. He must been holding on pretty well. He made it up to 25-30 miles an hour. Eventually he made this amazing leap of faith off the side. I really hope he made it safely home. I know I am glad I did. For a couple of minutes, I tossed around the idea of driving to visit P. but I wasn't sure of her work schedule.

Occassionally I like to run away from home. It helps to curb the urge to travel all the time. But this weekend is not a good one to be out and about. Too many people out partying and not very responsibly.

So good night and in the words of those three wise men "You've got fight for your right to party"

Forget regret. All life is yours to miss

As I have been just listening to Rent in ze car, I am once again putting it in the title. This will have to be a short note as it is rather late. It is hard to keep up with a daily entry. I usually end up running out of time.

Well, my compromise of just going to the baptism was thrown out of the window. Somehow I got massively lost (who knew there were so many streets named Baymeadows) and it began to rain not just cats and dogs but lions and tigers too... I missed the actual baptism but I made it for the party. I was surrounded by SJC librarians and some DC librarians. It was pretty good. Julia (the baby) was cute as most babies are.

Between the party and today's meeting, I learned that a number of librarians are leaving. Most are moving onto different jobs. I am thinking of going to another farewell party on Friday. Librarians are the worst for gossiping I think. You would think not because of the whole training we have about trusting your sources.... but no, the absolute worst : P But then we are also the weirdest bunch of people. It is like a cross between computer geeks, teachers and complete bookworms.

Of all the people who have left since I started, I miss Marlan the most. LOL A complete and utter character but exceedingly loveable. He was one of the few that I hung out with outside of work. A very good friend and so good at proding me out of my norm.

The clock should be dinging in mere moments and back into a pumpkin go I. I'll try and remember to fill you in on winnings tomorrow.

Good night and hope Atlanta is working out for you, Marlan the Magnificent

525,600 Minutes

Yes, I watched Rent last night. I like to watch musicals. Especially on DVD since I can find the songs I like to sing along with faster. I've got "Seasons of Love" almost down. Just a couple more tries until I could take it to Broadway.

I've always loved to sing. Mostly of the time it is to myself. I am still in the search for a good church choir to join. I miss it but it is hard to find an episcopal church that sings both traditional and contemporary. At least , as best I can tell, here in Jax.

There are a couple of other requirements for good church. But until I find them, I'll just have to have church in my car. Lots of singing and prayer going on there.

Today's prayer/think was about friends. I get so caught up with work and stuff that I have become a bad friend. I'm about to be even worse. I am peopled out and I am supposed to go to a friend's daughter's baptistism and party tomorrow. My current plan is to tell her that I will come see her on my next Friday or Saturday off.

Right now I feel like today is a day for covers. I'm ready to throw them back over my head. Mainly just tired and cranky and un-peoplely.

Good day and Lord, create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me. It fits.

The Appeal of Other Beds

No, it's not what you are thinking... I had trainingplanned for today. It was a middle management class. It was being given at a Holiday Inn just down the way. So I had the brillant idea of getting a room for the night. It appealed to me as a break from the ordinary. But I couldn't decide whether to do it or not. Occassionally I am as wishy-washy as Charlie Brown on his worst day. So after much debate with myself, I decided to do it. They had cable, a bigger bed and bath and I wouldn't have to clean the mess up after I made it (though usually I am not that big of a mess maker).

Overall it was a good night. A big bonus was getting to sleep in until just before the training started. Though my night started off with a laugh. I could have swore that the desk clerk told me 435 was the room number. So I parked as close as I could. I was perfection in the parking which should have clued me off that something was up. I get out, get my stuff and head up stairs. I slide my keycard in and no green light. I am about to do it again while mentally cursing the hotel business since I am so far from the front desk. It was at that point that I realize that there is stuff in the window. Okay I am not trying to get into my room... I was now trying to get into someone else's room. My room number was 453 and I can only imagine what the person in the room thought. I had checked in after 9 PM and the room was dark. I really hope that they were out and not shivering in the dark while someone was trying to get into their Holiday Inn room.

The training was very good. I wish someone had gone over management more when I was taking my classes for elementary education or in library school. They really need a permenant person just to teach these things and teach them well. Though supervising staff and supervising kids, you do run into the same situations. I don't feel as woefully unprepared as I did teaching.

That was a bad experience. I had no idea on how to ask for help and the person supervising me just took over my class. It got to be so bad that I couldn't talk about work without crying. I feel a lot stronger now. It is weird but now I think of it as a good thing. It was the push I needed to get out of the profession and into something that I truly love. I still get to work with kids but it is a whole difference atmosphere.

Well, the kittums are pestering me for loving (as I took off last night) and my pillows are calling...

Good night and may the job you do and the one you want be one and the same.

Death, peace and Hello Kitty

When I take time off from writing my blog, there seems to be an extraordinary amount of things I ponder. The title is just a listing of a few.

Okay so peace was Friday night's topic before sleep. It was one of those just starting to drift off Pull -Me -Backers. I was debating on whether peace was an actual obtainable goal. Do we as humans have it in us to be at peace with one another? In the song, peace is supposed to begin with me. Am I peaceful? I think so. If you were to ask me right now, "Do you hate or wish to do harm to anyone?" My answer would be No. But is that peace? Does peace mean no fighting or is it something more? And I wonder why I have trouble sleeping sometimes... And sleep overruled as I never did finish the discussion with myself.

Death came up yesterday at Mom & Dad 's. I had gone over to do laundry. Being as it had been at least weeks since I did it last, I ended up standing for dinner (Mom, Grandmother did get the flowers). We had been talking about HMOs and I, as usual, was interjecting my own spin on Luke's message. Somehow from that we got on death & who gets to make the decisions. Mom emphatically told me that Dad would be calling the shots and vice versa.

It was one of those weird thoughtful times where you want to listen and cry all at the same time. For me, it was what I expected especially as Dad knows her mind most and she knows his. I am even not too concerned with if we bury or what happens to the body. Dad said something about dumpster and Wendy's for himself. I know it won't matter as it is just the cocoon left behind. The spirit will be with Jesus and the memories will be with me. Now before you start thinking I will going the Mendendez route... don't worry. I love my parents and I want to be around for quite some time but I also understand the natural progression of life. So we are born, so we die. We have such an odd handle on death in this country. I remember when Mom and Dad asked us to make a list of things we might want of theirs after they die, I started on it right away. My siblings thought I was being morbid. I didn't see it as that. It was a request, I like making lists and it wasn't like I handed in the list and asked them to die right now.

So from Goodbye Life to Hello Kitty... my mind works in mysterious ways. That was one of last night's thinks before bed. One of the stickers on my car is of Hello Kitty and Mimi. Somehow in thinking of that, I got on this whole balance of life kick. Which actually tied into my other topics quite nicely as they are also other sides of the balance... life death, war peace... Too much on either side changes things and skews your vision. I guess it ties into everything in moderation. I am bad at being balanced at some things. I tend to get too much of things until I don't want it any more. Too much junk food, too much sleeping, too much being alone. I need to work on that.

I did do a little more work on the international job thing. I finished my resume submission for one part of the DOD. There is a position in Germany. Though I do need to do a bit more research. I think I messed up one part. So onto research...

Good day and bring on the rain but keep the hurricane away....

Critters have feelings too

Ah, leftover song bits from Hoodwinked. I like stories that make you see it from another point of view. My current point of view should be dark as in eyes closed. . . How I could be tired is beyond me.

But here I sit, Mondo tired. Knew I should have left the house nice and messy the way it was. But no. I had to clean the kitchen last night.

It is always the last few hours of work that are the hardest.

Good day and the person who makes naps mandatory is the one who gets my vote this year.

Math Makes you crazy

This fact was learned by watching A Beautiful Mind and soon to be watching Proof as well as how insane I get just trying to add up things in my check book. I must be going crazy since I can't have negative numbers in my checkbook.

Actually hasn't been negative for quite a while. I have been working at it and doing everything automatically has helped. I wish I could do a couple of other things on automatic. Walking, going to sleep on time, etc.

After a much lauded lazy weekend, I am happy to report that it hasn't leaked over into the week. I have been busy at work setting up entertainment for the branch birthday party in July. Thus far I've got a maybe from the Tae Kwon Do and jugglers and left messages with the storytellers, SCA, and dulchimers. If I can get all of them I think it will turn out to be a good day. I still need to call in the clowns... Well maybe next year : P

But for the rest of the event, I plan on delegating. (Insert evil laughter and music here)

Plus today, my desk is almost clean. I know, I know... hold your applause... It is the ever-present to do on my to do list. Don't worry though. By tomorrow it will be as if it never was.

Good day and put the integers down nice and slow and nobody'll get hurt.

And the winner for the laziest weekend goes to.... (drumroll)

Yes, this weekednd was a shoo-in for this event. I am almost positive I have slept more than 24 hours in the last two days. It had also looked as if this would also be the least productive weekend but for today.

I spent the time after finally waking up cleaning house. I got the living room and dining room done. Only four more rooms to go. I would have done more today but there was quite an accumulation of cleaning to do. I tend to mainly focus on relaxing when I get home from work each day. I've got it on my schedule to do a room a day but it is harder to stick to than honey.

I also got some actual library work done. I didn't log onto the network though. I am not sure about the internet that I have seeing as I have no idea exactly how I am logged on. I brought the laptop home to work on schedules this weekend so that they would be done for the month. Just as a lark, I tried to connect to the wireless networks that were found. Well, I actually connected and I am not really sure how. I didn't have to sign in. After researching it a bit, I am still not sure.

Maybe I should just chalk it up to Internet manna : P

Good day and don't look a gift horse in the mouth... it's liable to spit on you : )

Even, I'm Odd...

Well, chickadees, it is that time of year when a young lady's thought turn to ..... a)mush, b)travel or c)the lastest cricket scores.

It's a trick question. My mind is always mush, there isn't a day yet that I don't wish to just keep going to somewhere else and I have yet to finish my reading of The History of Cricket and Cricket: techniques, tactics and training. It is like learning a whole new language.

But I do like learning new things. And going to new places hence the whole travel reference. But where? By tomorrow I should have about a week and a half saved up of travel time. I probably won't be able to fit it into June. I know, I know... only the first day and it is already mostly booked. But July seems like a good time as ever to go. Plus I get my raise as of July 16th. A whole 5% more. Yay! Must ponder this some more. I'd like it to be out of state. Hmmm.... I'll be out of state and out of my mind : P

Speaking of new languages, I plan on brushing up on my French. I got a couple of CDs for the car to practice. Hey, I thought what better time. I normally sing in my car but I can make an exception. Je chante dans mon auto normalment... maybe I should pop one in this afternoon so I might be able to finish that thought in French : )

Nothing more on the UN position. The position doesn't close until mid July anyway. Though being the positive person I am, I expected them to read mine and just close out the rest. I understand that they have to give everyone a fair shot at my job... : P

Good day and Bonjour!

A little nonsense now and then, is cherished by the wisest men.

Oh but Dahl knew it all. I will still be reading his books when I am ninety.

Let's see who do you like to read over again. I reread Koontz and King but I have to be in the right mind set. Or I loved rereading the Anne of Green Gables books. Or The Little Princess. It is interesting to read something that was written so long ago but still has revelant even now. I have a hard time actually doing the reading though. I have gotten so used to skimming quickly. To stop myself, ocassionally, I will read aloud to myself.

My own personal audiobook. Hmmm... I will put all those courses of how to read faster out of business when I come up with Eve's How to Read Slower course.

Good day and read well.

Toys of Today

Where there are new toys there on children or at least adults who are like children. Case in point: we just got a tablet PC for the branch. I picked it up yesterday and took it with me to a meeting. I felt like I was 10 with the newest Barbie accessory on the block.
Later I attracted actual children while working a tutorial for the new toy. Cannot be cool kid unless you can actually work the cool toy you have :)

After the meeting, we had dinner out to celebrate a successful event. Overall, most people raved about SDD. Plus it seems that we all have similiar and very quirkly weird senses of humor. Though Carol didn't have a biker date for me, I still had a great time hanging out and talking with the Bahama Mamas i.e. T., P. and myself. I like people I can laugh with. Laughing is an essential part of my day.

Good day and of course I am out of my mind. It's dark and scary in there.

Nada, Rien, Nothing...The Not MEs are running the show

Overall a good day but for me, a bit of a blah day. All the colors of the day seem muted. It is a day where everything goes along much the same as the days preceding. No great worries or joys.

Mainly I am just tired. I work tomorrow and Thursday and then I am off Friday. Work Saturday and not Sunday or Monday. Those kind of weeks leave me feeling a bit disjointed. But it has been a good day for the branch. We definitely felt more busy than normal. I am hoping that it continues on throughout the summer.

Right now I am just ready for a break... some days to stay home and just do nothing. Nike may want me to just do it but I am so not in the mood for that : )

Good day and do you know the muffin man?

Non Serious

I AM a silly and serious person.
I WANT to live and work abroad.
I WISH it was easier to get a work visa in Britain
I HATE getting annoyed at small things.
I MISS my best friend, Marcy who lives way too far away and in too cold a place.
I FEAR becoming jaded.
I HEAR the hum of the air conditioning.
I WONDER what I will be like when I am old.
I REGRET nothing. I hope I learned from it all.
I AM NOT a loud person.
I DANCE while cleaning, while driving, while happy...
I SING quietly.
I CRY at sappy stuff.
I AM NOT ALWAYS awake enough
I MAKE WITH MY HANDS pies and write calligraphy.
I WRITE poetry sometimes when I feel like it.
I CONFUSE everyone even myself.
I NEED to get started on my life.
I SHOULD always put me first.
I START right now.
I FINISH The Stand by Stephen King (again)

Where did my May go?

We are almost half way through the year. I can not believe it.

We had a lovely Mom's Day. We had lunch at Harpoon Louie's and she got a lot of good presents. We were almost all together (P. couldn't make it because of tire trouble). As I shopped for her presents, I wondered when the Single Girl's Day would be : ) I think I'll just pick a day and demand presents.

This week was a busy one between meetings and trainings and getting sick. I wasn't here on Tuesday. I despise sick days. But it was one I most certainly needed that day.

I applied for a post as a librarian in one of the UN departments. It isn't quite what I am used to but I think it might be a good thing. I'm still looking into other positions as well. I love my job but I want to keep my eyes open. P. is looking into moving back here while I am looking for a way out : P

Good day and I may lose it all but hope.

Happy Mother's Day Mom!

Top Ten Reasons My Mom is Wonderful

10. She puts up with my dad and has for over 30+ years : P
9. She is a very generous person. Even at the times when it seemed we had nothing to share, she found a way.
8. She went back to college after a long spell and finished her degree. I get my smarts from her.
7. She has a beautiful smile and shares it often. We have the same smile.
6. Her lists for Christmas are often short and filled with things she knows we can afford : )
5. She is brave in a lot of different ways. Who else could have face down a tire iron and imaginary lions... long story
4. She loves to read and put up with my long spell of Harlequin romance checkouts.
3. She has a lot of faith and acts on it. She is not a sidelines Christian.
2. She has a wonderful sense of humor. Including a notepad that says "Now I know why rodents eat their young..."
1. Because she is and I love her.

Tonight the minutes seem like hours the hours go s slowly and still the sky is light...

Just a wee bit of West Side Story for ye... I liked the ending better than the normal Romeo and Juliet.

I had a couple of kitty catastrophes yesterday. First, my littlest, Hazel, got her back righ toe tangled in the blind cord. She got caught and kept trying to get away all the while yowling up a storm. But the harder she'd pull, the more it hurt. I had to eventually cut the blinds. While this was going on, Basil kept attacking her. I am guessing to try and get her to stop yelling. Biggums needs to think a bit more : ) I checked her out afterwards and thankfully she didn't seem to have any swelling or limping. It just seemed a bit tender to the touch.

Then I had just gotten her settled, when Henri, my middle guy, slid past the fireplace screen and disappeared into the chimeny. I pushed the screen aside to find him perched on a ledge in the chimney. I had to use a spray bottle to get him out. Of course he was filthy by this point and after pulling him off of the top of the refrigerator, he got a bath. Not a fun experience for either of us. He was pretty good through. He only scratched me once.

I warned them today before I left. No blinds, no fireplaces, no smacking while someone is yowling... or it's no window time for you. They love window time so hopefully the house and cats will all be standing when I get home tonight.

Good day and dogs have masters, cats have staff.

I Try

Most of the time that is my response to anyone who compliments me. I thank them and say "I try". Today was a try harder than most day. Life is an endless succession of trying. This weekend I tried out a new friend. N works in my eye doctor's office and we hung out for the first time this weekend. It was really pretty cool. Yes, we did go to the new library downtown. But I hadn't really had a chance to explore it as someone who goes there and not as someone who works there. She bought her two boys with her and they were boys : ) Trying hard not to like it there but in the end they did.

All in all a very good day. Actually Saturday was good too. P came into town and we had lunch with Mom and Dad. She had to leave early that morning which took me all of thirty minutes to figure out. She woke me up at 4:30 to lock the door. But I am used to her popping in and out. We had a blast going through the DQ drive thru. Somehow she knows just what to say to make me get the giggles. I was afraid to say anything as I was sure to start laughing again. She even wanted me to tell the guy at the window that I was a crackhead. And of course I protested saying No I am not going to tell him I am a crackhead. It was perfectly timed so I said it just as I was pulling up to the window. LMAO.

I also got to drop off a care package for J on Sunday. I had originally got it as a you're going into the hospital package. But as she isn't it became a for the heck of it gift. I like those even better.

So good weekend, bad Monday. Or more bad addittude Monday... Trying to be good can be just that.. trying. It is important to me to keep at it though. One of my favorite quotes is Be the change you want to see in the world. Trust me, the world could stand to be a bit more Eveish.

Good day and you remind me of the babe.

Off tomorrow...

Let the rejoicing begin. This will be my first Saturday off without having to take leave in a year. Temporary insanity is my plea and I'm sticking to it.

Slow day here. But I've got to manage today. It still is so difficult. It is so easy to figure out what I do good and what I need to work on. It becomes more difficult in trying to tell someone else what they need to work on. But I am so proud of me for doing it.

I want to be a good manager. I think I succeed or at least am continuing to learn how to be.

Good day and TGIF for once...

Not a shred of evidence exists in favor of the idea that life is serious

But then again neither am I. Dreadfully condition. I tried it once in 1995 but never again : P I am back at work once again. I am having a very friendly phone morning. Thus far I have had a laugh with a colleague, I have plans for a farewell dinner with a friend and have one of the programming people looking for a guy for me. Triple LOL. It's so strange. I lament sometimes that I feel so alone. But I keep realizing how many people I know and am friends with. I wonder if it is me. I shut people out and then complain about being alone. I am an introvert according to Myers-Briggs but mainly according to me. Which are you? I need time by myself. I recharge that way. But all things in moderation. I need prodding sometimes to get out and interact. I need reminding that they will like me if I just give them a chance to get to know me. I used to carry a construction paper heart in my wallet. I had drawn a crack through the middle and drawn bandaids over the crack. I had written "Handle with Care" and "Kid Gloves Only" on it. I still have the heart. I gave it away once and never got it back. So I made a new one for me to hold onto. It is a bit frayed and bent but still holding itself together fairly well.

Good day and le coeur est la chose la plus forte dans le corps.

Quick Update

My apologies loves about the lack of communication... just a quick update. I am still visiting with P and will be out until tomorrow. Her procedure went fine and it appears that it is hopefully not as serious as thought. She doesn't get her results until the 15th so keep her in your prayers/thoughts/sacrifices to Bast ;)

As for me, I have spent some time researching positions, work permits, and citizenship. There is a possibility I could apply for a Highly Skilled Migrant but it is a bit dear. It would be cheaper to work in Canada : P I also took a look at the out west positions which are definitely a possible. Or going with the DoD which I started submitting my resume for. It looks like either Germany or Japan would be the most likely for an overseas position. I still have to finish my Peace Corp application. I got it done up to the financial bit. But I am certain that this is my year to move or change. Just between the current situation at work and just my own wanderlust. The hardest part will be the missing of family. But I am dedicated to doing this for me.

Let's see what else. I have firmly set my supreme niceness title in stone. I was on my way to work the other day and had to stop at Wallyworld. Just in walking to my car I happen to overhear a guy looking for a jump for his car. I happened to have a car and jumper cables to be able to help him out.... Nice and so modest : P

Good day and Call on God, but row away from the rocks.

The Grand Scheme

When is the best time to stop scheming and dreaming and start acting? This is something I have been pondering more and more. I have plans and dreams and ambitions. So when do I start making them happen? As of right now, I still trying to decide on what is the best way to get where I want. I've got the job that I love...now I just need the place where I can settle. The other stuff (husband, family, etc.) is supposed to come after I find my place. Or at least that is my plan. Though each time I type plan, I am reminded of a lyric, " Life is what happens to you while you're busying making other plans". Or what Dad says, "If you want to hear God laugh, make plans."

So I love my job but it needs to be in another place. My number one pick would be in England. I have wanted to move there every since I can back for graduation a couple of years ago. Number two would be just abroad. Out of the states... I find wanting to see and do things not of this land. Something beyond my current cultural state. As to exactly what I am not sure. But I am sure of this as I am that I am me. If I have to stay here in the states, out west seems to where I am currently leaning.

So what have I done thus far? I've got my resume posted with the DoD. Not my first choice but it is an option as getting hire elsewhere outside of the states is a bit of a problem. Why couldn't Mom have an insane desire to live in Australia for a good part of her pregnancy with me I'll never know? If Angelina Jolie can do it... I also cruise the job sites and I have found some but I have yet to persue any of them. I am afraid of either getting in or not getting in. What a dilema... I am no good at following my own advice. I keep telling P to try for the scholarships even if she wouldn't get it but I wouldn't do the same for a job.

What do I do? Well, I have 3 months til my probation is up here. The worst they can say is no. So bring on the apps for all three places. Vive la vie...

Good day and live the life.

Busy, busy, busy..

My computer class ran over today. They were just so excited. I had the best compliment from one of the ladies who told me after the class that she hasn't taken any classes recently due to the fact that she has a learning disability. She said I made everything quite easy to understand and made her feel quite comfortable. Kudos to me!

I will be popping in and out of work for the next week or so. Hence I will popping in and out of blogs too. Today's catatrosphe was my star sticker order didn't come in in time. Now where can I get 10,000 star stickers tonight?

Hmmm.... good day and twinkle twinkle little star.... I call it... it's mine! : P

Saturday, April 22, 2006

Of course, I am Special... I have the Sandwich sticker to prove it.

Overall a very lovely Saturday. Would have been lovelier if I didn't have to work and could have lazed about all day... though possibly not. If I hadn't been at work, I would have been available to help D move. Good things out of bad.

God and I talked quite a bit this morning in the car. Well, I talked, God just listened. Mainly about the whole where is my life going bit. I reiterated the fact that all signs from him must be in bright neon colors and flashing. Though it reminds me of how much I pay attention to things normally which is a negative percentage at best. I am very good at not noticing. Hence I get pied in the fact quite a bit. Whenever it happens, it makes me wonder what else am I missing.

I had a nice chat with N today. She works in my eye doctor's office (speaking of not seeing things). She is a very nice person and we talked for a good 45 minutes on the phone. I am very thrilled to have a new friend : ) I have such a hard time finding cool people. Cool people don't live in Florida. What I want in friends is very similiar in what I want in guys. Silly and serious at the same time. Must be weird but not in a bad way. We talked about taking a class together. One of those continuing ed classes. It would be so cool to be able to hang out with someone other than myself. Though I am the coolest chick I know... maybe that's what is up with the wanderlust. It's the cool people can't live in Florida rule.

Good day and keep cool ;P

I need Feebdack...

on two different things so this should be interesting.

The first is I am going to be spending a lot of time in my car traveling to and fro next week and the week after. I am going to need traveling music. I like most everything but it needs to be something I can sing to. I tend to get a lot of soundtracks so I get a mix of everything. The next two weeks are going to be odd to say the least. I'll be at work on Monday and most of Tuesday. Then we have a training day for which I have been on the planning committee. Repeat after me... Do not volunteer for anything else right now. So the two days after it I am taking off. Only to work on Saturday and Sunday and then I am taking the first three days of May off. It's like this weird non vacation vacation : ) I'm taking the time to be with P for her procedure.

So second request... what is the best way to tell someone how their choices are affecting your life without it getting all accusatory and ugly? It is someone I really love and care about but I really don't like feeling like I am bailing them out all the time. When does one say when, when it comes to love? Sorry, channelling my inner Carrie Bradshaw for a sec.

Maybe when I get a free second I will finally figure out what I am doing with my life.

Good day and dance to your own special music (sticker above my desk)

Happy Tax Day!

Though actually any day paying tax is not a happy one. So unhappy tax day, loves. This was the first year I have actually had to pay anything. I have the feeling next year I will actually have to take mine in to get them done. I can pretty much muddle through them normally but the deductions always get me. I would like to know where my tax breaks are for my cats. If you all can take off your kids, then I should be allowed to take off my cats. I mean they are actually pretty dependent on me. Basil especially... I love that I have three levels of loving from them. Basil would sit on me all day if let, Hazel wants love every now and again and Henri wants love from afar.

Okay so Happy Easter too. I was telling Dad the other night that one of the most enduring Easter images I have is when he used to do a reenactment of the Easter story. I remember most one year he had cover a cardboard box with red paper and then covered over it again in brown paper. He then acted out the whipping that Jesus received and seeing the red between really stuck with me. I hadn't planned on going to church this year though. That doesn't mean I believe any less or contemplated the message any less. If anything, the idea of rebirth and renewal mean more this year. I am trying to figure out a renewal of me. So I plan to spend Easter contemplating that. That and eating a chocolate bunny. LOL

Oh so reminded me of a joke. This is worth of Dad's joke list. Three men died and went to heaven. Before entering Peter told them that they had answer a question before they could answer. The first man came forward and Peter asked him "What happened at Easter?". The first man didn't know. The next man came forward and Peter asked him" What happened at Easter?" The second man answered, " Jesus was born." "No, that's not right" said Peter. He sent him over to stand with the first man. The last man came forward and was asked by Peter the same question. The third man answer with a confident voice, "That's when Jesus came out of his tomb..." "That's correct" exclaimed Peter but the man continued "...and if he sees his shadow, we'll have six more weeks of winter."

LOL Good day and have a hoppy Easter, loves.

Dream, Death, Mortality and Movies

I've come to realize that I am not a book monogamousist. I tend to read about 3 or 4 books at one time. I also realized that all of my current books deal in some rather heavy themes. Right now I am reading the Sandman collection by Neil Gaiman, Plague Dogs by Richard Adams and Learning Joy from Dogs without Collars. I am very much enjoying all of them but at some point I fully expect for my brain to stop working or go on strike.

The Sandman collection is a series of bound graphic novels which are a collection of comics. I have finished 1 -6 and am anxiously waiting on number 7 so that I can finally read 8 - 11 that I have been hoarding. I also am reading the Sandman Companion which is close to being as fasinating as the Sandman graphic novels. If I had to summarize the plot of the Sandman graphic novels, I don't think I could. In the big print it is the stories of Morpheus or Dream. But in the small print it is beyond description.

One of the things I like about it is how Death is portrayed. Death is a girl for one and so not the cloaked, scythe carrying scary person that is normally seen. One of the other things I like about Sandman is the use of storytelling and myth.

Which just happens to be a favorite vehicle for Richard Adams as well. The use of myth. Plague Dogs is a tale of two dogs who escaped from a testing lab and basically become wild. Rowf was used to test the possibility of revival after drowning and Snitter had some sort of brain operation. I loved reading Watership Down but I can't decide about Plague Dogs. It is a great book but a tough read. As after Watership Down I so want to investigate his background a bit more. It makes me want to head back to school just so I can write papers on these books.

He does such a brilant job of having mortality layers. There is a blaring obvious layer of the ethical treatment of animals but I suspect that the animals aren't just animals. I suspect that they may also be representation of groups of people. Yep... the brain should be going into shock right about now.

But me, I am just bad to my brain... I mean books is one thing but I force it to think about movies as well. I just watched 13 Conversation about One Thing. It was all about fate and choices and how what we choose effect other's destinies. It is a good thing I stocked up on bodice rippers to get my brain a break. Those are beyond shallow. They are fluff. Not a moral to be seen. Literally or Figuratively...

See this helps. Getting it all out so that I don't have an overload of thoughts. I really should find a book discussion group. I miss talking about what I am reading.

What else is new? I went to church and lunch with D and H on Sunday. Very awesome people they are. I need to continue my church hopping. Theirs was good but not quite me. I have this set idea of what I want. LOL It was great church hopping in England being an Episcopalian. I mean finding an Episcopal or Church of England chuch was so difficult there... Not!

I am heading out to see P in a couple weeks. She is having a procedure done and I wanted to be there for her. So send her prayers, good thoughts and large bills : ) Otherwise I am doing okay. Too tired to upgrade that to a good right now.

Good day and pray often (especially during tax time)

Mental Health Day

No, this is not the day to go prove or disprove your sanity. I took a few days off as mental health days. It is just a day to get my brain back in gear. I ended up reading and just relaxing for most of it. Though I did get some cleaning done. And Tada! I cooked last night. I haven't done that in so long my dishes were thinking of harikaring and donating themselves to a mosaic shop. It was actually pretty tasty. But an enjoyable couple of days.

It is hard to break out of the habit of doing things. Relaxing is an artform not yet appreciated. I did catch myself a couple of times thinking of work. But I popped a Brachs in my mouth and tried to think of other things.

Alright kiddos... I've got to get back to work.

Good day and go mental.

What Boonies-Living has Done

I had to share with you all the sight I saw as I was out and about doing outreaches for the library yesterday. I was on my way back to the library when I noticed a strange vehicle coming up from behind. As it passed, I had to do a double take. It was a very tricked out hearse. Chrome and the whole nine yards. The back window had been decaled with a huge skull and crossbones and read "Dead Ride" just above the skull. Of course I was quite curious as to the adventurous soul who was driving (no pun intended: P) The guy looked normal enough except for his head gear. It was a black cowboy hat covered in red bones.

And I thought my bug stuck out in the land of pickup trucks : )

Good day and I see dead rides (temperature drops)

I've lost my hour already... and got the missing posters ready!

Please forgive me if this isn't a mite coherent as it still feels way too early for this. I don't know what I will do when I have my hour taken away this weekend. What exactly happens to all those hours? Is there like a big huge snow week at the end of time where all of the hours lost for DLST will be used?

Part of the reason I am so tired is I was so awake after the concert last night. I went to the Celtic Woman concert and it was just wonderful. I clapped and cried and tried not to sing along out loud. It was really great. I haven't been to anything artisitic in a while. I tend to head straight home after work.

I also made a friend yesterday. I was talking to my eye doc's receptionist about kids, cats, husbands and the library. She wants to go to the new main but felt weird going by herself. So we're making plans to go there. Also a very cool thing in my book. I don't have enough friends. I know a lot of people but I don't hang out with a lot of people. I've gotten a wee bit spoiled with doing things by myself a lot. But I want to change that a bit and make it a wee bit more even. I'll keep you posted. I also decided that I do need to get out more. A flower in the sun all the time dries out. A flower in the rain all the time drowns. But a flower that is in both blossoms big and strong. I so should have become a fortune cookie writer. Is it too late to change majors? What classes would I need for this? Confuicius 101?

Good day and bloom big!

Live happily

I was cleaning out my things one day and came across this list I had started way back when. It was all a verb and then an adverb. The title was on the top of my list. Some of the others were love completely, kiss deeply, and laugh wholeheartedly. Nice reminders from my past for my now. I also found poems, reports and one very cheesy short story from my creative writing days. It is nice to know I haven't left my cheesiness behind.

In that same cleaning fit, I also tossed a number of old love letters from ex-boyfriends. It was like holding on to tangible evidence that I was loved once. I didn't even reread them. Just into the trashbin they went. One last leash of old past holding me from my new future. I still have a number of things to clean out but one closet at a time.

Good day and you'd be amazed at how much junk I have (internal and external). Maybe a twenty one broom salute is due : P

Here I am to Save the Day!

Just a little Mighty Mouse for all of you. I had yesterday off work and spend almost the entire day in bed going from sleeping to reading and back again. It was just lovely. I knew I had things that I would like to get done but just felt like a lazy day was needed. I work so very hard most of the time.

We have a new staff person coming in on Monday. I am very much looking forward to working with her as I mainly just know about her from children's meetings.

You may have to look twice today. I lightened my hair last night and it looks fab-ul-ous! Or mostly like me with lighter hair: ) and waver hair. Somehow if I wash my hair at night and let it airdry overnight...BAM! Insta-perm. I look like I was attacked by perm ninjas overnight. It is a cute look on me but always reminds me of the commerical they run after Jeopardy. My hair is straight but Roger just called and now I just wash and it's curly. My personal thought is the hair is so scared of Roger that it curls just to get even a little bit away from him.... BRRR...

Good day and beware of Doug...

Just Breathe

Another awesome weekend with P. She came into town on Friday and just left today. She is one of my favorite people to talk with. She is so able to do the silly and serious conversation.

Work was good on Saturday. We did reader's theatre for Saturday Surprise. Who knew that there were so many ways to say the word "please"? We just had a blast. It continues to get a bit easier. The first couple of my evaluations came in. I am so glad I stole that idea. It just really helps to have an idea of how I am doing from my staff that is very constructive. I have been able to take some of the ideas and start working on how to incorporate them. I am really trying hard to be a good boss but at the same time grow some thicker skin.

I need to work harder at getting out more. I am so used to heading home just after work. No detours. I need to find some fun. I hope P. does decide to move closer so we can hang out more. I really think that having someone cool to hang out with would make me do more stuff. Motiviation : P is not my strong suit. Neither is picking up on subleties... It's a good thing that I'm a lifelong learner believer. Life is too precious not to learn or be stagnant.

Maybe I should learn to remember to get my key before P. left town. She accidentally took it out to my other library : 0 I've got to go pick it up in order to go home. Woops! : )

Good day and learn darnit!

You guys rock!

That seems to be the most prevelant thought as I read over the comments from my last blog. As Bartles and James used to say "Thank you for your support." It really just made my day.

I ran away yesterday. It wasn't a big run. Just down the way to P's house. She is doing good but is frustrated about the whole job thing. There is just a glut of collegies where she lives and it is hard competing. But she keeps trying which is good. We spent the day lazing around which makes the day off even better. Plus I had the best drive there. It was late with very little traffic and a good CD to listen to. I resisted the urge to find out where on road went. Oh but by my fingertips though. Next time when I have more time. I told her I would come in May for more days and figure out the whole how to pay for college thing with her. Somehow my $3.60 from the Upromise account does seem to cover the college expenses. Must buy more Gordon's and Cottonelle.

We party tomorrow for St. Patty's/March B-days. And then again in two weeks... occassionally we work : P

Oh and I get to breathe a bit easier as we will have another children's person before the current one leaves. I had vision of my April being really really bad with having to handle branch duties and children/teen duties as well. I did it for a month at another branch. Whew!

Good day and party til it hurts.

Take two oreos and call me in the morning

I seem to remember a Weird Al song dedicated to that principle... The White Stuff. Whatever it was about the oreos, all I know is I ate a couple and was out like a light yesterday. It had been a long day and week. Somehow I feel more like myself. At least somewhat... I still feel a bit like I am walking on eggshells.

If you are a bit confused, join the club. Last week I was told by someone that I was half the reason that they were leaving. Then they alluded to that they weren't the only ones looking for a way out. Talk about feeling like being hit by a 2x4. I had thought I was doing such a good job.

So I spent most of the week(this and last) doubting myself big time. I have asked my staff to do an evaluation of me. It isn't a requirement but "I can't fix what I am doing wrong if I don't know it is wrong". That is what I have been telling all of them.

I also haven't told anyone this with the except of God. He has been hearing a lot of this. It has been really tough. I keep trying to convince myself that this is a good thing and that I will learn a lot from this. But it hurts.

Some lessons are.

Good day and learning is a good thing.

Comments from a Fishbowl

Blub, blub, blub and a-gurgle. I feel like that sometimes as my office has a window. Not to mention an open door.

I saved a Cowboy the other day. He was very cute and cuddly. Thank goodness he was wearing a collar.

Okay so it was dog named Cowboy. He spent last Sunday afternoon hanging out with me at my apartment. I had just left for lunch when this little dog came running up to my car. I spotted it in my driveway to check on him and he jumped in the car when I opened the door. Since I didn't have my phone, I shut him in the car long enough to run back in the house to get it. I called the number on the tag. No person just a machine. So I went back in the house to get it organized ie. corral the cats into the other room. Basil puffed up twice his size with the mere whiff of doggish scent. Cats in the living room... now to sneak the dog in the other part of the apartment. That taken care of, I headed off to get drive thru. Once home, Cowboy and I hung out. He was a very very friendly dog. Several hours later after a couple more calls and some napping in my bed, Cowboy's family came to get him. It was a mom and her two kids. They had torn the house apart looking for him and not realized that he had slipped out the door when they had left.

Thank good ness they came to get him. He was such a little thing and I was glad I found him when I did. The street I live on is a very busy street even on a Sunday.

Oh and the bad day is slowly moving out. I told you ... hope helps...

Good day and yeee-haaaaah!

The Bad Day by EMC

Once upon a time, there was a very bad day. It moved into my house yesterday and seems to feel quite at home as it showed no signs of moving. It has messed with my sleep and my eating. I am hoping that once I go home today it will have moved out. Nothing scares a bad day as much as hope. I hope.... I hope...

Good day and keeping hoping.

I love my job

I know it's a scary fact but it is a fact. I am utter perfection at this. I have found my niche.

So can you guess that my Sunday work was pretty easy. I am very glad I found some of my daily work to bring with me. It did make it easier as the first part of the afternoon was fairly slow. But even as it picked up. It never actually got too hard. I was really a bit worried that I won't be able to handle running another library. I had forgotten that unlike my daily job, this was at a bigger library. Bigger library = bigger staff. More people to take on the job I have to take on at my smaller branch.

Mucho fabulouso! But I normally feel this way about my daily library as well. I love getting to help people learn more about all sorts of stuff.

For the most part I had to make sure that the payroll forms got filled out corrrectly and sent in. Plus I got to spend all my time in childrens where I started out in. It is so cool getting them to smile or finding whatever it is that they need. Plus part of my job is showing them how to find it themselves. Ultra coolness : )

Okay, enough gushing... Still as much as I love it, don't think I won't be the number one person running out to my car at the end of the day :P

Good night and librarians don't die, they get a checkin date of never.

Yawn...or Not to Yawn

That is most certainly the question today. I woke up early this morning at 4, read until 6, slept until 8. I crashed yesterday about 9 so I did get my eight hours but the rest of the morning had me a bit befuddled. If I get 8 hours, am I still tired by my waking at 4? Things to ponder # 1,256...

So note to self never promise wonders. They just don't work that way. It takes away from the wondering. Maybe I should mix mundanes and wonders. That way....no because the mundane can be a wonder. Like Wednesday was going to be stars. They are probably my number one wonder and they need no explanation to go with them. Though I have always loved the idea that we may see a star's light that is no longer there.

I think I will leave Thursday's wonder up to you all. One person's wonder is another's mundane. Case in point, my dad has been taking pictures of mundane things that he finds beautiful.

I have decided that the plan of working out in the evening after work is a foolhardy plan. Even with my $2.00 in my pocket and my workout clothes in my car, I still can't seem to get myself to the CF gym to work out. So I came up with a new plan. On my late days for work ( I have two days I don't have to be here until 11 : ), I go that morning and then either on Sunday or my day off. Unfornuately this Sunday I have to work at another branch and Monday is a holiday so the earliest I will be able to get in is Tuesday.

Oh, the best laid plans of mice and men... though I never did exactly understand why mice had to plan. Except for Pinky and the Brain... : P

Good day and what are we going do tomorrow night, Brain?

Happy VD!

LOL I just couldn't resist the title. It stands for Valentine's Day for those curiously minded. As to whether mine is happy is still out on debate. I just sat through a very long meeting for work. It seemed only longer because someone had forgotten to set their clock back in the meeting room. Maybe that is why it was so cold. Though I can't complain truly seeing as my Canada people see this as a balmy day at 29 : )

Okay today's wonder is personal strength. Blame this one on the Olympics. As I only have 5 channels and a limited amount of movies I can check out, I find myself watching the Olympics nightly. I am in awe of all that they go through just to get there. I don't particularly care who wins... I cheered like crazy when the Chinese came in silver for the pairs skating just because they had a horrible fall and got up to continue their skate.

As well I know myself I don't think I will be entering any competitions any time soon. But I know my strength. It is said that God never gives you any trial that you aren't strong enough for. He must think mightly highly of some of us. I mean think back on all you have gone through. Bad jobs, horrible relationships, regretful decisions... but you press on. It is amazing what we deal with everyday in the Olympics of our lives.

So back to the day, no plans tonight except to spend them with my true loves... Henri, Basil and Hazel (my kitties)

Good day and To the world you may be just one person but to one person you may be the world.

Three Wonders for the price of One

Okay so the whole wonders in a row only works if I am blogging everyday. Due to the lack of computers in my house, I can't blog on the weekends. So Saturday's wonder was the sense of touch, Sunday's was ability to laugh and today's is being able to read.

I love to play this game with myself. I focus on what I am feeling all at the same time. The clothes on my skin, the keyboard under my fingers, my tongue in my mouth. I think touch is taken for granted. I often wonder what my life would be like without it. There was a news story once about a little girl who didn't feel pain. As much as one might think that would be great, the pain wasn't there to tell her to stop doing something to herself. So wonder #1: to feel.

Everyone does it. Though we do it for different reasons and some of us do it when they hear someone else doing it. Laugh (I know what you thought I was talking about... cheeky buggers). We may forget how to do it sometimes or feel like we may never do it again. But it doesn't stop us from being able to. I know for a fact that God does it too.

And lastly, number 3 of which you have otherwise you wouldn't be able to follow this blog in the first place. Can you imagine what your life would be like if you couldn't? The smallest things we take for granted would be massive hurdles.

So wonders done for now. I had a lovely weekend of hanging out with most of my family and lazing around with kitties. It was within inches of heaven. I think all life is within inches of heaven. You determine how many inches...

Good day and may your inches be few : )

Piles upon piles

I am a pile person. Where are my clothes? In piles. What about work stuff? Piles. It is like a weird nervous tic. I believe I really realized that I pile everything when I finally became to tackle organizing my stamp collection. Yes, the snail mail kind. I split all of them up into their respective countries. And yes, they were in piles hence my thought of "I am a pile person".

It was a very interesting day over all. Dad and I went to an Ethopian restaurant. I couldn't figure out at first why they didn't bring us silverware. Or at least until they brought out our lunch on this large pancake-like bread which then became your silverware. I had a really great time hanging out with him. He is a very cool and interesting person although he tells the worst most horrible jokes. But I love him so I'll forgive him for that : ) Our time was just perfect too. I had no sooner walked the door from Dad's that my stamp album stuff got delivered. When I had originally called, they said it would be delivered between 9 am to 7 pm. Major ughs!

Doing the organizing may think a little about countries and history and patriotism. I do have stamps from places that no longer exist. Or places that changed names. How much of their identity was wrapped up in their country's name? How would I feel if all of a sudden when went from USA to USBL(United States of Bovine Lovers)? How much of ME is wrapped up in being an American? It was somewhat like thinking of how much of me is being female. I had about the same amount of choice (none) in either of those situations. I love living in America but I don not thinking we are the be all end all of countries. We have so much more to learn.

I have stamps from all over the world which got me thinking of history. Not world history but people history. I wondered what and who all these stamps had interacted with. All the news that they had shared that changed someone's life forever. That is today's wonder. I am hoping to do seven wonders in a row.

Okay, since all of you are now probably scratching your heads. I finished the PostSecret book the other day. It was beyond phenomenal. But the one that stuck in my head was the one that told how they saw no wonder in the world anymore. So hence the wonder...

Good day and may all your days be wonder-filled.

My new favorite quote

Love, love, love it!

Blub, blub, blub...

Sorry bloggeries.... I have been just drowning in work recently. It was a six day work week this week and I am so glad I don't have to do it all of the time. Thus far I have resisted the evil urge to take work home. It is very tempting though. I must get focused. Work is for at work and home is for relaxing, playing the kitties and plotting to take over the world.

I was fussed at the other day. Very disconcerting since I thought I was doing the right thing. Definitely something I am so getting rid of once I am in charge. Unless of course it is constructive.... so I want to be challenged but not challenged. Thus our rule as Queen of Contradictions continues into our thirtieth year (Note: I took on the royal tradition of responsing to self as we and did not develop momentary schizophrenia)

Oh and I'm bringing back the Brian Jacques' Redwall program to PBS. It apparently isn't shown in our area anymore. I am guessing the 6:30 am Sunday morning time slot demanded something else... I love those books. I always had to raid the fridge after reading them as the characters always were having feasts. They were mice after my own heart as we are party central here at work. We will party at the drop of a hat... I must schedule hat dropping soon.

Good day and go hug your librarian... it's love your library month : P

Fighting evil by Moonlight...

Would the multi-millionaire prince who needs someone to organize his yacht's library while vacationing in the Mediterranean, please raise his hand?

Oh yes there you are!

The daily imaginings of a country librarian... I need to slow down. I am still in the process of finding that happy medium of being busy but not so busy I need to start popping Valium from a Pez dispenser. It is probably just the timing. Or I just need to find a happy medium in a couple of other areas. I should give Dionne Warwick a call. Though all the mediums she knows are probably quite desperate since the Psychic Friends had to declare bankruptcy. Not quite the happy cheery people now... shouldn't they have seen that coming?

I've spent too much of the week on work stuff. Hence the whole blahs. I'll be better tomorrow.

Good day and I have places to be and kitties to snuggle.

I smoke my friends down to the filter

I can not wait to escape to the quiet of my apartment today. It's not that it's been noisy but it has been busy. I just want to sit and be. My life has been taken over by a cat. Not just any cat but this cat:

I decided to do my bedroom in Hello Kitty. It fits in well with me and I don't mean to Hello Kitty everything. Just a couple of things. P. suggest I hit up ebay. She helped me pick out a Hello Kitty rug the other day. I went down there last weekend to just hang out. It was just great as she is a great person to hang out with. She cooks for me. The ultimate sign someone loves me... I dislike cooking for myself as I have to do it all the time. She is the best little sister I have.... okay so she is the only little sister I have. Just like D. and J are the best older brother and sister I have. D. actually edges out on this though. I used his gift card to get a Hello Kitty bag. Though J. gave me Hello Kitty stuff too. Must ponder on this more.

Oh, I went to see Hoodwinked the other day on my fun day off.

Very, very funny movie. I really like the retelling of popular fairy tales. Plus it did a fairly decent job of being funny on two levels: adult and kid. I liked it. P. and I still have plans to see Narnia. At the rate we are going, we may be renting it instead of seeing it in a theatre : )

Good day and shhhhhhh.

Ask Me?

So it's Wear Your PJs to work Day... did you enjoy it? Did you miss that memo?

Well, I didn't. We are doing a Family Bedtime stories so to encourage those coming tonight to wear their PJs... I just had to wear mine. Though not the entire day. I did have Drug and Alcohol Training course to attend and figured that they would yank me right away for the random test if I was so duly attired.

So it was take off pjs, go to training, put on pjs and go to work. I must be making up for missing topsy turvy day. I have more training and meetings for the rest of the week so this is the only day I can make it up on.

Other than that a pretty normal day. Oh, I did get so see my good friend M. He was in training with me. Since the switch to management, I haven't been able to see him in a while. I do miss hanging out with him. I hope to be out of this job before I have to supervisor friends. That would make this a million times easier and harder.

You know us librarians. You've got to warn us off the D&A all the time. I mean talk about your high stress jobs : P Though we are just a neighborhood branch and we definitely keep busy. In just 6 and a half month, we've have over 10,000 items checked out. Major kudos to my staff, volunteers and community.

Okay, I'll stop before this begins to sound like an award acceptance speech. I'd like to give a shoutout to all my peeps especially the easter chickees... though the peeps at christmas were good too : )

Good day and remember always eat the head first... it is the best part of the peep.

I am flawed but I am cleaning so well...

I love when I get to start the day with a really good song.

My life is messy and so is my apartment as I am in the midst of remodeling both. I am attempting to get rid of clutter and become more organized. So I have cleaned out my front closet, 1/2 of my junk drawer, and moved my living room around. I went through half a million papers (okay so I am exagerating... it was more like a million plus : ) and chunked quite a bit. My current mantra is why am I saving this?

I haven't even got to the hard stuff which is currently housed under my bed. It's all the sentimental savings of 30 years. If only I could be as good with saving my money, I'd be a millionaire by now.

The hardest toss was one of R's emails. I reread it and decided that had he truly meant all he had written then he'd be there helping me clean out this monlith of a project and writing me sappy love stuff still.

It was a bit defeatish in a way. I held onto it so I had proof that I was loved instead of going on there and finding someone to love me.

Good day and I wonder can I just google love ?

I'm Sorry Sir but we have a "No Smoting Policy" in the Restaurant

Today's title was brought you by Dad's blog entry of reading of the irreverant comics and I can only imagine the waiter's chagrin with God's smoting in the restaurant.

Onto news, I discovered a conspiracy. No I don't know who killed JFK but it's better than that. The VW people want my money. Yep, they engineered a car to which the individual owner can do nothing. Nothing. Not a thing. It died the other day... or at least the battery did. At least twice. I don't think there is a VW heaven but there is definitely a VW hell and I was in it. I took it to get a headlamp replaced, oil change and a new battery. Yikes!

Only once they had to revive me as the oil change and headlamp were $ 154 and the battery would be $189. So I thought I would save a little and buy the battery at a random auto parts place and have P. put it in. Well she tried, the auto parts guy tried but no success. You apparently have to peel apart the car to get the battery in and out.

I have now figured out why my manual says eighty percent of the time "Take it back to the dealer". Had I not needed it for work, I would have taken it back, left it on the steps with a note saying "I have to give it up for its own sake. Take care of her." and been on my merry little way.

I have been immersed in this and catching up on all the work that I missed while immersed. My staff did what I do when they are gone. They put all manner of things on my desk.

Not much going on right now but I am being cursed by the lip fairy too. I put on some of that outlast lipstick and it is so outlasting me. I can't get it off. Really : * My lips have been Plum for like a day and a half. They should change it to Outlaw as it holds your lips hostage.

So needless to say my year is off to just a kicker: )

Good day and go long:P
